Ledgent Finance and Accounting has an immediate opening for an Accountant with a logistics partner of ours in the Saint Paul area!
- Pay $28-$34/hr
- M-F 8am to 5pm
- Contract to Hire

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations
- Process invoices, receipts, payments, and expense reports
- Prepare and manage monthly financial statements, supporting schedules, and reports
- Reconcile credit card statements and vendor accounts
- Assist with payroll processing and employee time tracking (if applicable)
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Prepare documentation for tax filings, audits, and year-end accounting
- Monitor cash flow and maintain accurate financial data in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage)
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting best practice
- Serve as the primary point of contact for general office needs
- Manage office supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships
- Coordinate scheduling, meetings, and basic administrative support for the team
- Handle incoming mail, deliveries, and basic correspondence
- Assist with onboarding tasks for new employees (e.g., setting up workspace)
- Support general office organization and ensure a clean, efficient working environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Accountant or Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role
- Strong understanding of GAAP and standard bookkeeping practices
- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills and professionalism
- Experience in office administration or office management (helpful but not required)
